All the designs I deliver are custom built to meet your needs and requirements. The process outlined below helps to ensure I meet that objective.
Discovery & Information Gathering
I typically begin the process by learning about your business, your competitors, the areas you wish to target and reviewing your current website if you have one. I do this by asking you to complete a project survey in the form of a Word Document which I’ll send to you via email. At this stage, the more information you’re able to give me the better I can understand your needs and goals. Depending on your requirements, I may ask for additional information such as:
- Domain name registrar contact details
- Logos, graphics and images
- Email address(s)
- Social media links
- Content
Homepage Design & Inside Page Design Concept
I will create a home page design and one interior page design. This will be either a PDF mockup sent via email or a link to an online representation of the design in the form of a .jpg image to show what the final design will look like.
Design Feedback
Your total satisfaction is what I aim to achieve with every website I create. Once the design concept is complete I’ll ask you to offer your feedback and comments. You can also request revisions to both the home and interior page designs at this stage.
Site Development and Build
Once you are happy I move onto the process or transforming the design into a fully functioning website that is compatible with mobile devices. Your site will be developed in one of my own testing environments using the latest coding techniques. Some clients like to keep track of the development process and I’m always happy to provide access to this area.
Content Collection
Site content, images, photos, and graphics are collected and added to the development site. If you don’t have content at this stage, I’ll use dummy text and sample images for development purposes.
Testing and Delivery
Once the development and build process is complete and content has been added, the site will undergo testing to iron out any issues. You will be able to review the site prior to final delivery and request one final round of revisions.
Site Launch
I’ll install the site on your web hosting, configure all settings, optimize for search, submit your site to the major search engines and provide you with login credentials.
CMS Training
If you requested a content management system, I’ll provide you will a WordPress user guide so you can update your new website without needing to employ the services of a professional.
